About The Half Marathon

The Pride of Jhansi , the perfect platform for all the runners across the country to come together inorder to celebrate their running. Running in India has been growing by leaps and bounds over the years and Jhansi is one of the cities leading this change. Jhansi boasts of having the largest runners community in India and many Jhansi runners across different age categories have been winning at the major marathon events in the country. Jhansi has been referred to as the fitness capital of India.

Jhansi is all set for the Half Marathon 2023, which will take runners through important landmarks of the city. We believe this event will go a long way in promoting running in the city and encourage a fit and healthy lifestyle.

The Rani Mahal

While a number of buildings in Jhansi are associated with the life of Rani Laxmibai, one of the most prominent but often ignored buildings is the Rani Mahal, where she lived from 1853 to 1857.

Located inside Jhansi city, it was in the Rani Mahal that Indian fighters approached the Rani and urged her to take over the leadership of the Revolt in 1857.

Jhansi Fort

Jhansi is the gateway to the legendary Bundelkhand region known for valour and courage.

However, its greatest claim to fame is its fiery Queen Rani Laxmibai, who along with Jhalkari Bai, Gaus Khan and others, led forces against the British in 1857, and sacrificed her life for the cause of India's independence when she was only about 22 years old. She was an example of leadership and courage.

Baruasagar Lake

The beautiful fort complex of Baruasagar was built as a summer retreat for the Rajas of Orchha, and has been witness to some historic events. Baruasagar, 22 km south-east of Jhansi, was built by the Bundela Raja Udit Singh of Orchha between 1705 and 1707 CE. He also built the large lake adjacent to it. Inside the fort complex were palaces and several small temples.
